Lori Binder

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Lori Binder is in her tenth year as the Head of School and CEO at Gray Academy of Jewish Education, a JK - Gr. 12 Jewish Community Day School. She is a proud graduate of the school (Class of ’91) having attended since Nursery and where she began her career as a teacher in 1996. Lori assumed the role of curriculum coordinator, Vice Principal for a decade and Associate Head of School. She celebrates over twenty-five years at Gray Academy. Lori holds a B.Ed. (English and Judaic Studies) from the University of Winnipeg, a M.Ed. (Administration and Supervision) from Loyola University (Chicago), a Manitoba Education Level I Principal’s Certificate and Level II Administrator’s Certificate. She is a graduate of the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools’ (CAIS) Advanced Leadership Institute (Next Step Program) and the Jewish Theological Seminary’s Day School Training Leadership Institute - DSLTI (New York). Lori is the immediate Past Chair of the Manitoba Federation of Independent Schools and serves as Vice President of the Chai Folk Arts Council. She also serves on the Standards Council of CAIS.
