Al Benarroch

Al Benarroch is the President and CEO of Jewish Child and Family Service (JCFS) and holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, with a research focus on health psychology in mental illness.  Al operated a private clinical counselling practice for 10 years, working exclusively with Indigenous peoples, on and off reserve, Indigenous child welfare agencies, schools, and communities.  Al joined JCFS in 1999 as Clinical Director, and in 2014, assumed the role of Executive Director.  Al’s passion is in finding interconnections between Judaism and clinical practice.  Al is a certified Master Trainer in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), the world’s leading suicide first-aid intervention training program.

Denise Rubin

Denise Rubin, B.H. Ecol., MACP, CCC: Denise is the JCFS Clinical Supervisor who immigrated to Canada from Argentina at a young age. She specializes in guiding individuals through trauma, addictions, and other mental health challenges, offering a holistic approach that blends evidence-based practices and honours each client’s unique therapeutic journey.

 

Trained in Eye-Movement-Desensitization-Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Denise is committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients can process their experiences in alternative ways. She integrates mindfulness into her practice, helping clients cultivate self-compassion and inner harmony. Denise takes pride in walking alongside her clients on their path to healing, empowering them to embrace a more fulfilling life.
